Town of Hudson neighbors worried about halfway house
New residents are moving into a town of Hudson subdivision later this month, and their activities will be closely watched by neighbors who have so far declined to put out the welcome mat. The Wisconsin Department of Corrections will open Exodus House, a program to help offenders transition from jail back into society, along a semi-rural stretch east of Hudson. Up to 12 men with alcohol or drug addictions will live there. Those who live nearby say that they worry about safety, property values and the impact on their quiet neighborhood and that they were caught off-guard by the plans.
