New pact gives St. Paul teachers raise, better reward for seniority
The St. Paul school board on Thursday approved a two-year contract with its 3,600-member teachers union. Teachers will receive a 2.5 percent raise this year, retroactive to the start of the school year, and a 2.25 percent raise for the 2008-09 school year. The deal also provides increases in pay for beginning teachers and teachers with 20 years of experience.
