St. Paul / Billboard deal pleases no one
St. Paul and companies that dot the city with billboards edged toward an uneasy truce Wednesday, as the city passed an ordinance that permits dynamic "digital" billboards but requires many other conventional signs to be removed in return. ... McCarver, who represents the city's biggest sign company, said he hoped there was room for compromise and that the city might still negotiate terms of the ordinance and allow digital signs to go up. "I remain hopeful that something can be worked out," he said.
