Ramsey County voters won't be deciding sheriff issue
Ramsey County voters won't be voting on whether to appoint or elect their sheriff this November. The county Charter Commission voted Monday not to put the question on the ballot. The vote was 8-8, with one member absent; nine votes would have been needed to put the question on the ballot. The commission has held four hearings over the past several months to get public input. The issue has been debated on and off for more than a decade.
