Burnsville district picks a new superintendent

Randall Clegg comes from Iowa with key experience in a diverse environment and declining enrollment. Randall Clegg has accepted an offer from the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage school board to be the district's next superintendent. Clegg is now the superintendent of the 4,400-student Clinton Community School District in Clinton, Iowa. The board voted unanimously to offer the job to Clegg on Thursday night. "It's a community that is beginning to experience and will experience a change in demographics," Clegg said Friday afternoon about his new district, which has 10,400 students. "I find that very attractive and a very exciting challenge -- looking at how to maintain the tradition of educational excellence as your student population changes."
