White Bear Lake offers superintendent's job to Michael Lovett.

The school board vote was unanimous. The White Bear Lake school board voted unanimously late Wednesday to offer the job of superintendent to Michael Lovett, according to district spokeswoman Susan Brott. Lovett, who was one of two finalists for the post, is now assistant superintendent of the Minnetonka School District. Along with Nancy Rajanen, an assistant superintendent in the Robbinsdale district, whom he beat out for the White Bear Lake job, Lovett is also a finalist for superintendent in the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District. That district's school board is expected to make its choice today at the earliest. In addition to Lovett and Rajanen, Randall Clegg, superintendent of schools in Clinton, Iowa, is also a finalist in the Burnsville district. Because Lovett is awaiting the Burnsville decision, he asked the White Bear Lake board for some time to consider its offer, Brott said. That had been expected, she said.
